Food is nourishment, food is love 🤍

Here’s my favorite eateries in Zurich for you: Whether you’re looking for a nourishing breakfast, planning a brunch with friends, craving a snack in between, going for lunch with colleagues or looking for a fine dining for date night… here you get whole foods and plant-focused deliciousness. Get inspired and choose your spot.

EAT by Alex

There are times when I literally live on EATbyalex. Seriously the best quality food I can think of: seasonal, plant-based, organic, fresh, refined sugar-free and so delicious.

Choose your package and get it delivered to your home or your office: breakfast, lunch, dinner, shots and the treats are heavenly. Every day the menu is new and different. Alex also offers fun cooking workshops to learn the art of plant-based cooking.

roots

The best açaí bowl in the city. And the best pancakes. And the best chai latte. And the best plant-based shakes (my fave: Drill by Dill) and bowls. And not to forget the banana bread. Basically everything. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or a snack or enjoy the weekend brunch at my fave location „Roots x Balboa Schanzengraben“. And don’t forget to say hi, if you see me at one of the tables

NEUE TAVERNE

Soulfood on very high level, vegetarian with a twist. The truffle brioche is to die for and the sourdough bread is amongst the best on the planet. And those are only the starters. The food is best enjoyed shared. And don’t forget to make a reservation in advance

Co Chin Chin

Vegan Pho. Do I need to say more? With super fresh and crispy veggies. And try the spring rolls. So crunchy and to die for. And they are open for late lunch, even on Sunday. I love it. For veggie lovers and carnivores alike.

Moudi Bar & Restaurant

Hands-down the best Libanese Mezze in Zurich. Order „Mezze Querbeet“ and you will get a feast to share. And the place is a vibe. They also have different other locations like „Moudis Lecker Garten“, which is especially nice in summer.

LoLa’s Kitchen

Best plant-based, refined sugar free cakes in Zurich. For home delivery or take away. What a treat - for all your senses.

Restaurant KLE

Innovative. Delicious. Nice Wine. They offer brunch and dinner. For date night or with friends, you choose. Either way, you cannot go wrong. Don’t forget to make a reservation in advance

Juicery 21

Smoothies, juices, matcha, bowls and handmade staples for your kitchen like peanut butter or apple cider vinegar. I love the freshness and simplicity. Come early, they serve while stocks last.

Gelati Tellhof

Just my favorite gelato in Zurich. There are different locations across the city, „Gelati am See“ for example, directly on the lake. The nice goodie is: you always get offered a little scoop to try of an additional flavor (called „Probierli“). And it’s not a secret: Pistachio is my favorite 😋

Restaurant DAR

The newer and younger sister of KLE. Super delicious, ceative plant-based cuisine with a Morrocan touch and nice drinks. Brunch, lunch, dinner - you choose.

Hiltl

Talking about plant-focused eateries, this list would not be complete without the Worlds First Vegetarian Restaurant (est. 1898). They have a buffet rich in variety for everything from breakfast to dinner and several nice and unique locations across the city. I like the vibe at „Hiltl Dachterrasse“ (rooftop) or „Hiltl Sihlpost“. If you have a sweet tooth, try the vegan soy chocolate mousse.

Fischers Fritz

Ok, it’s not plant-focused but rather fish-focused. But you will find me here preferably on Sundays in summer for a late lunch after stand-up-paddling on the lake. You don’t need to check the menu, just order freshly caught Fisch Knusperli (fish nuggets) and their famous truffle fries (addictive) and enjoy with perfect lake-view in laid-back atmosphere.

Cantinetta Antinori

For days when you like it more decadent, here’s my favorite Italian Restaurant in Zurich: typical Tuscan cuisine with fresh ingredients at a very high standard, paired with a wide selection of wines (also by the glass). I love it for a late lunch on Sunday in winter or in summer alike. Psssst… my guilty pleasure: Tagliolini al Tartufo and Tiramisu for dessert.
